This design improves power by creating a more dense (lower temperatures) intake charge when compared to stock. AFCO's double pass design, combined with total grill covering, will increase the cooling ability of the system to drop inlet temperatures to near ambient while under boost. A 60-70 degree temperature drop is typical when compared to the OEM system. This  helps control detonation in supercharged applications.
